LEASING

Leasing is the process whereby a property, be it a flat, house, shop or commercial building, is taken on lease or rent by a tenant from a landlord and clearly it is in the interest of all concerned to have the terms of the Lease set out in writing.

In the case of a house it may be a short assured tenancy which allows the landlord to regain occupation when he requires it for his own use or in the case of a commercial property, it may be a formidable document which gives the tenant a lease for 5 or 10 years or more and requires him to insure and maintain the building and a lease such as this which can be the foundation of someone's business for many years has to be scrutinised with the utmost care. There is new legislation which requires a deposit paid by a tenant to be held by an independent party with severe penalties if this is not done promptly.

We deal with leases of commercial and domestic property.
